This
was organised by Sarah Moon and Lorraine Horlock, and held at the Wellworthy
Social Club in Wyke Regis. I was living in London at the time and found out
about it through my Grandmother, who had seen a notice in the local “Echo”
newspaper. I was reasonably keen on going - maybe out of curiosity to see how
many of us still had hair? At that time I still had regular contact with several WGS alumni, but was disappointed that none of them expressed interest in
attending. I still felt obliged to go, but being reluctant to turn up on my own
didn’t appear until later in the evening, and initially was there more in body
than in spirit, for which I apologise. However, a few drinks helped and I got
more into it later on, particularly when a few of us went down to our old
stamping ground Verdi’s (formerly the Cellar Vino) after the party finished.
